Margaret Sling Bag
Dec. 22nd, 2009 10:38 pmI found this tutorial and thought it would make a cute bag for my grandma.

I'm completely in love with this bag (I'm sorely tempted to keep it for myself)...The main fabric is this really cute calico print, and its lined in hot pink. I didn't use interlining like the tutorial said to, but I interfaced both the lining and outer fabric for extra stability. I also made the pockets in constrasting fabric to make them pop. I'm really happy with how it turned out, considering I was scared shitless with the pleating and everything.
The only bad thing I can say about making this bag, is that it is a giant PAIN IN THE BUTT to sew through 8+ layers of fabric/interfacing. I'm glad I didn't use the interlining, I think my poor sewing machine would have died trying to sew through that.
Only 1 more present left to make. I made another throw for one of my cousins, but I wrapped it up and forgot to take pictures. Oh well. It was a hot pink fleece with orange, blue, and green polka dots on it.
